A “mempool” is a term used to describe a group of unconfirmed transactions that are awaiting inclusion in the next block of a blockchain. When a transaction is sent on the Bitcoin network, it doesn’t immediately become a part of the blockchain. Instead, it enters the mempool, which acts as a temporary holding area for pending transactions. Only after a transaction is confirmed will it be removed from the mempool.
